So much of what these guys do relies upon overwhelming the market and using their balance sheets and access to funding. How many treasuries do they need to control to put this size on, how does it effect the overall liquidity, how many treasuries are rehypothecated? At what point is it deemed market manipulation when you can merely sell a commodity without limit? No doubt they are long all the US Treasury cash vs short futures which leads me to believe the convexity bid this next time around could see the US 10s drop 30 to 40 BP in a single day...if these guys are loaded up and making billions, whose taking the losses? U S banks?
